Meet Matthew Mitchell
Matthew Mitchell may be new to the coaching scene, but he brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives to the Fort Collins Foxes. After spending 4 years as Baseball Student Manager for Grand Canyon University (D1 program), he got his first college coaching opportunity in 2023. In his first season, he's already making an impact as an assistant coach at Scottsdale Community College (AZ). At SCC, he works closely with outfielders and hitters, honing their skills and helping them develop into well-rounded players. His passion for the game and ability to work well with young players caught the attention of Foxes Head Coach, Joe Bergen. A Background Rooted in Baseball
In addition to his collegiate experience, Matthew has honed his coaching skills during the last two summers as the head coach of a team in the Arizona Collegiate Wood Bat league. He also worked in the well-respected Northwoods baseball league in 2021 for the Battle Creek Bombers. His time with the Bombers allowed him to expand his knowledge and network within the baseball community.

Matthew Mitchell's passion lies in helping players reach their full potential. He believes in the power of mentorship and strives to bring out the best in his players. His experience and connections in the world of baseball enable him to relate to players in a unique and meaningful way, fostering an environment where growth and improvement are at the forefront. While Matthew's heart beats for baseball, he has other interests outside the ballpark. He's an avid hockey fan and enjoys watching the sport. He also finds enjoyment and adventure in spending time outdoors, especially when fishing. These diverse interests enrich his coaching approach, allowing him to connect with players on various levels.
