Fort Collins Foxes Welcome Skylar Black as Head Coach for 2026 Season

Big news for Foxes fans — we’re thrilled to announce Skylar Black as the new head coach of the Fort Collins Foxes for the upcoming 2026 summer season! Black joins the organization with a strong background in both collegiate and summer league baseball, known for his ability to connect with players, build competitive teams, and develop talent at a high level.

Currently serving as an assistant baseball coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU), Black works closely with infielders and hitters while leading recruiting efforts for the NAIA program. His coaching journey also includes time with Stephen F. Austin University, the University of New Mexico, and the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley Baseball League.

A former collegiate catcher himself, Black brings a player-first mindset and a passion for creating a strong, positive team culture. His coaching philosophy centers on teaching fundamentals, empowering athletes, and fostering a sense of confidence and camaraderie among his players.

“What a great opportunity for Coach Black! He does a great job on and off the field at OPSU, and will bring that same energy and passion to Fort Collins,” said Jared Mayeda, Head Coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. “We wish him, and the organization, the best of luck in summer ’26!”

The Fort Collins Foxes, part of the Front Range Baseball League, play their home games at City Park Field in Fort Collins, Colorado. The team is dedicated to providing a top-tier summer baseball experience for collegiate athletes and a fun, family-friendly environment for fans a

cross Northern Colorado.
